Announcing the MERLIN Web Operator Portal

MEMEX announces that all MERLIN standard customers with a current ASM will receive the newly released WebMOP. The new WebMOP will provide operator interaction with MERLIN for critical data capture and classification.

The MERLIN WebMOP supports a subset of features available on the full release, Windows application, and is suitable for use to:

  1. Login/off of operators
  2. Monitor real-time metrics for target machines
  3. Classify downtime events accurately
  4. Start and  complete SETUP
  5. Add operator comments to events
  6. Manually add part counts
  7. Manually add and classify rejects
  8. Initiate E-Alerts for rapid response

The WebMOP has a dockable command button tray with either button logos or text descriptions. The WebMOP can be configured for labels and color. Buttons can be enabled or disabled. The WebMOP can be configured to present custom MERLIN Web views as details screens for the selected assets. Generic downtime events, such as Idle, can be configured to cause a popup where an operator can classify Idle as another downtime state associated with the machine.

Where the full windows MERLIN Operator Portal is an option for MERLIN Standard users with a $995 per instance deployment, the new WebMOP is included at no cost for Standard users. This can save customers hundreds and, in some cases, thousands of dollars in licensing costs. The one caveat is that the feature set is limited. If users require more complex interaction features, then the full Windows MOP will be a better alternative. MERLIN Enterprise customers will not be left out; we are currently adding a subset feature for job selection. Stay tuned for more!

The notable advantage to using the WebMOP is that it can run in a browser. So if you want to deploy Android tablets or Apple iPads on the floor, then the WebMOP can be run in the browser, or at your discretion, even on the control itself.

The WebMOP will be in the next release of the MERLIN Tempus standard Edition.
